Temporal constraints

Working-out a route of transportation logistics specialists should take into account a great amount of factors. One of them is a schedule of temporal constraints which limit overweight vehicles traffic on the European roads. Such measures are assumed in the periods when pavement is easy to harm.

For example, in Austria such constraints apply on Saturdays from 15.00 to midnight, on Sundays and public holidays – from 0.00 to 22.00. There is also an all-round prohibition for cargo-carrying transport traffic (with a maximum permissible mass of more than 7 tons) in the night from 22.00 to 5 o’clock in the morning.

In the suburbs of London the movement of heavy vehicles is banned on Saturday from 13.00 to 07.00 on Monday. As for the whole territory of England, there is forbiddance of night traffic - although it does not apply to vehicles with a maximum permissible mass of less than 16.5 tons.

The ban on the movement of heavy vehicles from 00.00 to 22.00 during the public holidays and weekends in Germany does not apply to trucks transporting fresh milk, meat, fish and other perishable foods, such as fruits and vegetables.

In Denmark, such restrictions are valid only in Copenhagen: it is forbidden to move vehicles with a permissible maximum weight exceeding 3.5 tons in the night from 19.00 to 07.00.

On Italian roads in May and June heavy vehicle traffic is banned on Sundays from 07.00 to 24.00, and in the remaining period - from 08.00 to 22.00.

In Lithuania, Latvia and Ukraine there are no such restrictions for international transportation vehicles.
